VBA only works on Windows desktop Excel and poses severe macro-virus security risks. Office Scripts run on the web, Mac, and Windows, use modern TypeScript, integrate with Power Automate, and are IT-approved — making them the secure, cloud-first replacement.
Office Scripts themselves cannot make direct HTTP requests for security reasons, but they integrate seamlessly with Power Automate which handles API calls, database queries, and email triggers — passing the data to your script automatically.
Complexity depends on the VBA codebase. Simple macros migrate in days, but complex UserForm-based solutions with ActiveX controls require architectural redesign. We audit your existing macros and provide a phased migration roadmap.
