Our client, a large UAE-based public sector organization, needed to modernize their digital presence by escaping the restrictive licensing and high maintenance overhead of their legacy Sitecore CMS. They required a robust, API-first headless replacement that could handle multilingual content at scale while instantly improving content publishing speeds and the mobile user experience.
We executed a meticulous 3-month migration strategy to transition the PSU to a Strapi headless CMS architecture. Phase 1 involved crawling approximately 1,800 legacy pages to flawlessly replicate content, functionality, and SEO metadata. We successfully built the new Node.js-powered Strapi platform, mapped robust redirects to ensure zero organic traffic loss, and integrated essential third-party systems. Delivered end-to-end in just 3 months, the new platform provides massive cost savings and lays a scalable API foundation for Phase 2 mobile modernizations and Phase 3 AI-powered content enhancements.
Discovery & Blueprint Mapping
Prior to migrating data, our engineers deployed advanced crawling scripts against the legacy Sitecore portal. We inventoried approximately 1,800 pages, mapping out unique templates, reusable components, and documenting all core functionalities to establish a strict 1:1 migration blueprint for Phase 1.

Data Migration & SEO Preservation
Transitioning to the headless architecture required meticulous SEO safeguarding. We transferred all content, metadata, and tags, perfectly preserving the original URL structures on the new frontend router. We also mapped rigorous 301 redirects to handle any structural anomalies, ensuring zero disruption to the PSU’s organic search footprint.

The end-to-end migration was completed successfully in exactly 3 months, allowing the organization to completely sunset their restrictive Sitecore monolith. By transitioning to an open-source Strapi headless CMS, the PSU entirely eliminated exorbitant Sitecore licensing fees while drastically accelerating their content publishing workflows.
