Although the IndicPlus plug-in for Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator enables successful rendering of Hindi, Arabic, Tamil and other complex scripts in all InDesign suites, namely CS2, CS3, CS4 and CS5, however, the method of application of this plug-in is different in different suites. Unlike the InDesign CS4 & CS5 versions of IndicPlus, the IndicPlus plug-in is not available as a separate menu item in the CS2 & CS3 suites.
Application of IndicPlus Plug-in in InDesign CS2/CS3 Suites
To apply IndicPlus paragraph settings on InDesign CS3, click on the “Window” option in the InDesign menubar, choose “Types & Tables” and finally “Paragraph”
This opens the “Paragraph” dialogue box of InDesign. Click on the top-right hand side of this dialogue box. Off the the various InDesign document paragraph-composing options, choose “IndicPlus Composer”, as shown below:
You can now successfully type in all complex scripts in this text box.
